London Prepares For The 15th Annual Jazz Festival
The history of the London jazz festival dates back to 1970 when the London Borough of Camden had the idea of adding a week to the already popular Jazz Festival in Camden, which took place in the spring. A variety of sites in north London have been involved, promoting international jazz stars as well as providing a platform for new British musicians to showcase their talents. The popularity of the Camden Jazz Week led to a second week in a few years to be added in the fall.
However, the early 90′s Camden Festival, had ceased to exist, and when the City has continued to support the Jazz a week for several years, many felt a new direction, a necessary step, because the town to changing priorities and budget . Serious, an international organization that produces live events was a key factor in the technological development of the London Jazz Festival and the London Arts Board held the first festival in 1993.
